The train starts at sea level, goes up to 4,000' (Finse station), and back to sea level in Oslo. During the 6+ hour ride, there are dramatic changes in the scenery; some of these stunning views are visible only for a very brief moment because of the many tunnels and snow shelters, whereas others last for a long time as the train makes its way up a valley...
I hope you will enjoy these impressions from a truly remarkable journey! If you ever have to travel from Bergen to Oslo, don't take the plane - take the time and enjoy this unforgettable train ride... If you have an additional day off, get off at Finse (they have hotels up there), and go for a hike or bike ride, before continuing to your final destination - that's what I am going to do next time in order to fully enjoy the scenery :)
PS.: Almost all of these pictures were taken from the train, and sometimes the reflection of the camera (or myself) is visible...
